The Dallas Museum of Art is a living sanctuary of art containing marvels from around the world. Opening in the early twentieth century, the museum strives to make the art come alive. The museum is surrounded by the vibrant city of Dallas, a community which greatly supports the artistic mission of the group. I am lucky enough to call this wonderful city my home.
I visited at the end of March while attending an event celebrating the museum's Degas collection. When I heard about the event, I snatched my family and myself tickets as quick as one could articulate croissant while imagining the vibrant Montmartre, the district of Paris where Degas toiled at literally thousands of works.

The museum displayed one of their four pieces from Degas during the event. Edgar Degas was truly a creative genius, creating literally thousands of masterpieces throughout his prestigious career. His fascination with motion was conveyed through his creations; he brought materials to life though portrayal of dancers and racehorses.

After the Dallas Neoclassical Ballet Company performed on stage, the patrons of the event were fortunate to hear a lecture from the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek Curator Line Clausen Pedersen. Her insight on how Degas worked was thoroughly fascinating.
I cannot wait to return to the DMA for my next adventure!
Love,
Sarah
